Hello, it is a bakery, their bread is vegan.
Best bread in the city. Plus the bengits and goat cheese swirls are legit
The only place in town you can get some real french bread.... And the croissant!! Oh my!! But don't be too late they sell out early!
Delicious baked goods with a smile!
What a gem this bakery is! Beautiful loaves, croissant, beignets and more! You have to visit LF and perhaps stay for a latte as you nibble on a lovely tart.
I can't walk past without going in for a treat. A true French bakery with an expert Baker!
French baked goods, heavenly. Nothing there I don't like. Highly recommend
I've been there a few times, at around 11am and afternoon. The staff are nice but every time I went there, I couldn't find the almond croissants or some other pastries from their menu which made me very disappointed. Is that too much to expect bakeries to prepare more pastries if they know that their pastries inventory are sold out so early, or at least prepare again? Other than that - their chocolate croissant is very good, but the amount of chocolate there is small though. The cinnamon pastry was bad - the cinnamon sauce stuck so hard on my teeth that I struggled to get it removed. When I was there, napkins and sweeteners weren't served, that was disappointing as well.I'd definitely go there again but probably very early, if I want to get any of their other products.
I have been meaning to stop in here since co-worker had recommended it. Knowing my particular taste for baked goods, she was very confident that I would love this place - and I absolutely did. The line was out the door, literally, which is always a good sign. There were so many options it was difficult to choose, but we ended up with 5 different things. The doughnut was the shining star, for sure. My husband isn't a big fan of sweets, but said his nutella doughnut was the best he has ever had outside of Europe. I had a gruyere croissant which was light, buttery, flaky - using a strong cheese like gruyere was a brilliant idea. A very delicious balance! The pretzel wasnt my taste - it was very light and I do prefer dense and chewy, which I recognize is a personal preference. We are excited to return and try other items!!
Very good! The pastries were very good! However to get a good varaity I suggest you go earlier in the morning! 😁
Amazing bread, pastries and other treats. Where they tend to sell out of some things by later in the day, it's worth making the time to visit earlier on.
Fresh smell of bread and those almond croissants are my all time favorite
A fantastic place to grab an authentic croissant or Bagel. Their coffee doesn't some work but otherwise the oval experience is great
LF Bakery has the best bread in the city! The sourdough is amazing, particularly the whole wheat loaf. The pastries are to die for. They are buttery and flakey with just the right amount of whatever they are filled with. If you are looking for bread or baked goods, there is no better option.
If your looking for a place to show you the full, transformative, magical capacity of flour water and butter... Then this is the place. If they still have some, make sure to try the timber loaf. It is bafflingly good. Chewy, rich, dense and light at the same time, the crust. Makes me weak.
Outstanding traditional french bakery. The butter croissants and the pretzel croissants are spectacular, the ambiance is nice, and it's ideally located in the heart of "G" street. If I was local I would eat here every morning.
Great croissants, like a piece of Paris
Pricey, but excellent food and service.
I absolutely love it here. The food and coffee never disappoints and it’s bright and comfortable for little morning meetings
Oh my goodness!!! You can smell the freshly baked bread from outside! The staff is super nice and all the food is just AMAZING! We ended up buying one of each type of bread the had and it is all very very good!!! A must if you love baked goods!
One of the best croissants I've ever had in the world. Croissants, turnovers and jam filled donuts were standouts of a very fine selection!
Always amazing bread
If I died and went to heaven, I wish I could end up here. Freshly made french bread, pastries, great coffee. Soooo good! I've been to Paris... It's great but save your money and just come here.
Bakery is delicious, Croissant and Chocolatine are delicious. We bought bread and make toasts at home :) we also talk to the French owner Laurent, he’s awesome!
Fresh baked products. I gave it a 4 because it’s not the best bakery but it’s a compromise, it’s really good. I also gave it a 4 because the coffee is a little mild. The staff is nice but not too smiley or welcoming. Another reason for the 4. They have a good variety of products. Including sandwiches for those who want to have fresh bread or want to take out.
Smell was so intoxicating, nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread to start your day. Pastries were very good, place was very busy so may go back to try sandwich
Great little French bakery I went there every morning for breakfast during my trip. I strongly recommend going here at least once. They prefer cash or debit for purchases under $5.00.
Croissants are my item to search for, and this is one of the great ones. Not the chocolate croissant, a modern invention. The butter croissant, simple, and glorious when properly made. Crisp within the folds, soft inside, with the folds still apparent. Able to unwind so that you can have a small bite without the crumbles causing much of a fuss.LF is one of my top places on the continent. Thank you.
The food is fresh and delicious, their sweet stuff especially. The place is very small and almost always busy, i don't think it is a suitable place for studying. It is environment friendly and a good choice for people who want to reduce their waste. Good for people who want to enjoy a peaceful morning/afternoon.
The staff are great and the baked goods even better!
Very good food! Went on a Saturday around 10am and the line was out the door - I recommend getting there early. Didn't really like the hot chocolate (not enough chocolate flavour) but my friend really enjoyed the coffee!
The Best Bakery in Halifax - make no mistakes. There is often a long lineup at 7:30 am. I even caught Santa and Mrs. Claus wanting LF croissants instead of cookies on Dec. 24.
First time there and pleasantly surprised - clean, friendly service, good prices, very good coffee and the pastry selection is overwhelming! Shared an apple tart and a pecan tart....both delicious! I have to go back for an almond croissant....I guess they sell out quickly. This place is certain to become a favorite.
great food super service
Awesome staff, delicious food and amazing coffee. All around excellent.
Good croissants, bread looks great. Quick and efficient service. Milk of our latte and cappuccino was noticeably burnt and tasted a bit off.Annoying the washroom is locked and you have to ask for a key. I understand the purpose, but when there's only two staff members and a queue of people waiting to order it's not easy getting the key.
Always a favorite place to go. If you go at the right time of year, the rhubarb custard tarts are exceptionally delicious. And if you're a sour dough bread fan, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Very tasty and very busy. Lined outside on the sidewalk before we left there this morning.
The best almond croissant I’ve ever had, and As for the coffee! I ordered another latte as soon as I’d finished the first one. Delicious all round
Great coffeeParking on street until 3pm Delicious pricey baked goods
The croissants are a must! But everything is so good!
Lovely food. Very different. Great bread
Great place, tucked away, staff very helpful n friendly
So delicious and the staff so friendly too high recommend.
The croissant is probably the best you can get in the city. The price is also reasonable. The service is ok.
You can't go wrong with anything at LF! The croissants are delicious and other baked goods delightful. All of the bread I've had has been top quality and very good price point.
Great bread, pastries , very clean and staff wore masks and social distancing practiced. Will certainly visit again ,vanilla tarts delicious 😋
Everything there is top notch. Despite the hipster atmosphere, service is good, simple and fast. Blueberry tarts are my favourite, but the baguettes and dairy drinks are equally incredible.
The coconut chocolatine is the best treat around!
In my opinion, THE BEST BREAD in the city. All kinds of bread(pretzels, country, sourdough, baguette, croissants, tarts, buns, sandwiches etc.) Baked fresh daily. You can have coffee and pastry or sandwich and sit down to enjoy there or take it to go. Great patio in the summertime.
The quality of their baked goods is the only reason I still come here, but compared to the other bakery’s in Halifax the customer service here is the lowest. They always seem to want to rush customer out of the door and their hours of operation aren’t the best.
